My Process

The Five I’s

Benjamin Franklin once said, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” Design is no exception. That is why I consistently implement the following “Five I’s” process to ensure the best quality and customer satisfaction.

Identify

Working with the client, the first step is to identify the problem we are going to solve. This involves figuring out what exactly I need to do to meet the client’s needs for their audience.

Investigate

Research, research, research. During this phase, I take the time to learn all that I can about the client’s field and their audience. This phase may include visits to the library, surveying people on social media, analyzing the work history of the client, and more. This research is used to determine a specific creative direction to channel.

Ideate

This is the rewarding phase in which I take all that I have learned and apply it to get ideas down on paper. This really means I start sketching, generating as many amazing ideas as humanly possible. Once those are narrowed down, I present the best ones to the client.

Initiate

Now it’s time to initiate the creation of the design! Upon receiving the green light to create the final product, I get straight to work. I show the client comp(s), the client gives feedback, and after the feedback is given, we will have that initial idea fully brought to life!

Implement

When the product is finalized, the last step is getting it out there and delivering those final files. This is where you get to experience and witness the results.
